10 Spots to Savor Responsible Seafood This National Seafood Month

September 27, 2024

October is National Seafood Month, a perfect time to spotlight the rise of farmed seafood, which now provides over half of the world’s supply. But with growing options, not all farmed seafood is equal, making it essential to look for the ASC label on packaging to ensure you are choosing responsibly farmed products.

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is a global nonprofit leading the world’s strictest certification and labeling program for responsibly farmed seafood. ASC’s sea green certification label is the best way to verify where your farmed seafood came from, how it was raised and how it got to you.

To celebrate National Seafood Month, here are 10 places where you can find ASC certified seafood, offering you a responsible and flavorful choice:

  • Amazon: Tin it to win it! Explore a world of trendy ASC labeled tinned seafood, from Safe Catch Smoke Rainbow Trout and Freshé Canned Salmon to Bumble Bee Hardwood Smoked Oysters and Cole’s Smoked Salmon.
  • Costco: Discover an ocean of ASC products in the fresh, frozen and canned seafood sections, including Kirkland Garlic Butter Shrimp,  Kirkland Tilapia, Kirkland Farm Raised Atlantic Salmon, Sea Cuisine Tortilla Crusted Tilapia, Foppen Smoked Salmon, Xcellent Shrimp, Dine Well Shrimp and Crown Prince Smoked Oysters.
